International Smart Card is the leading provider of electronic financial transaction services in Iraq. In 2007, ISC introduced a private-label, payment card scheme in Iraq called " ", (Pronounced "key"). Card is chip-based smart-card used for disbursement of pensions, Salaries, and grants, and payments for purchases and fees.
Card is unique in that it employs multi-biometric identity information of the card owner, which is used to verify his identity and to authorize the intended financial transaction.
ISC issues Cards and acquires transactions, on behalf of twelve banks in Iraq, twelve banks in Iraq, including Rafidian and Rasheed, the two largest government banks. To date, ISC issued around 3 million Card. Furthermore, ISC established a network of 5,000 Point of Sale terminals, equipped with biometric readers to some 2,000 merchants throughout Iraq.
